Description
The stunning Three Doons Waterfall is a real hidden gem set between the Galtee Vee Valley and Araglen Valley under the imposing shadow of Knockshanahullion. Following mountain tracks, forest trails and part of the Blackwater Way National trail, this idyllic trek is one of the remotest in Ireland that will leave you re-energised and invigorated as you step into this forgotten world with views down to the south coast. The Waterfall is the halfway point on this this trail, an ideal spot for lunch. After the Waterfall the trail navigates through mountain tracks with spectacular views before dipping into Mount Anglesby Wood passing enormous swathes of rhododendrons in full bloom, an extraordinary spectacle.
After checking back into Clogheen Hall, you will enjoy a hot meal, followed by dessert, with live music on stage.
This walk is ideal for those with a moderate to high level of fitness.
